Just as the Covid19 pandemic hit the World in Q1 2020, leading Danish retailer Salling Group acquired UK owned Tesco supermarket in Poland in the largest investment in the history of the Group.

With the acquisition of Tesco Poland - to be converted into the new updated Netto concept - Netto Poland would place itself in the top-5 of Polish retailers, going from 400 to 700 Netto-stores. An agressive timeline of converting all Tesco stores within only 1 year was prepared, leading to 7 new Netto stores opening every week somewhere in Poland - something never achieved before.

Helle has has headed up the PMI office in Salling Group and Netto in connection with the acquisition of 300 Tesco stores in Poland, which were to be converted into Netto stores. A very complex task with a very large number of people involved. In this connection, Helle has led the project with focus, diligence and a unique ability to engage everyone in a direct and constructive way. The pressure has been enormous on many participants in the project and intense focus from both the board and executive management.
